2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Overview

Welcome to the future. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning mixes everything you love about a traditional Ford pickup truck — power, durability, and safety — and combines it with everything you love about electric vehicles — efficiency, eco-friendliness, and great torque and acceleration. You can test-drive and purchase a new Ford F-150 Lightning at Two Rivers Ford in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

Efficiency and Range

One of the biggest concerns drivers have with electric vehicles is how far they’ll go on a full charge. Ford quells range anxiety with the all-new 2022 Ford F-150 thanks to two impressive battery options.

Choice of battery

With the standard-range battery, the all-electric F-150 Lightning returns an EPA-estimated 230 miles of range across for the Pro, XLT, and Lariat.[1] With the base battery, the F-150 Lightning can cover the entire drive from Mt. Juliet to Knoxville with plenty of power left for cruising.

If you want even more confidence, an extended-range battery is available for the Pro, XLT, and Lariat and standard on the ultra-premium Platinum model. By upgrading to this more powerful battery, the 2022 Ford F-150 can cover up to 320 miles on a single charge (or 300 miles in the Platinum).[2] Under optimal conditions, that’s just about enough power to make the drive to Chattanooga and back without having to stop and charge up.

Charging at home and on the go

When it comes time to top up your battery, Ford makes it easy. Charging your F-150 Lightning at home is simple thanks to the standard mobile power cord and 240-volt connector, which comes standard with all models. Extended-range trucks include the Ford Charge Station Pro, which allows you to charge your truck from 15% to 100% battery capacity in just eight hours.[3] The Ford Charge Station Pro also allows you to tap into the awesome power of Ford Intelligent Backup Power, an innovative feature that turns your truck into a generator for your home.

What about charging on the go? You’ll have access to more than 70,000 chargers across North America with the BlueOval™ Charge Network — the largest public charging network on the continent.[4] When you stop at a DC fast charger, you’ll be able to get back on the road faster. Putting out 150 kilowatts, these stations allow you to recover up to 54 miles of range in just 10 minutes.[5]

Fast charging

Every F-150 Lightning comes with 250-kilowatt-hours of complimentary fast charging[6] with Electrify America via FordPass™ Rewards, and you’ll have a quick and convenient experience thanks to Plug & Charge technology.[7] But you’re far from limited to one provider with the BlueOval™ Charge Network — you can enjoy pay-as-you-go access to stations from names like Flo™, Chargepoint™, and EVGO™.

When you need to find a lightning-fast DC fast charging station along your journey, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has you covered once again. FordPass™ Power My Trip and Intelligent Range work together to automatically update your available range based on real-world, real-time factors and helps you find the nearest charging station along your route.

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is the cure for range anxiety. Whether you’re running errands around Mt. Juliet or headed out on the highway for that family road trip you’ve been planning for years, the all-electric F-150 Lightning offers superior confidence.
