Amazon In-Car Delivery
Ford offers an array of helpful technologies that make driving more convenient. One such technology is Ford+Alexa, which allows you to access traffic information, voice navigation and Amazon Prime shopping on the road. Now, Ford also provides Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery, which makes it easier for you to receive packages.
Benefits of the technology
Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery makes it possible for a delivery driver to deliver your Amazon Prime packages directly to your vehicle. As such, your packages can be secure in your vehicle, instead of sitting on the front porch until you arrive at your house.
How it works
If you own an eligible connected vehicle, your Amazon Prime account needs to first link with your FordPass™ app in order to use Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery. Then, when you purchase items on Amazon Prime, you can easily pick the in-car delivery option as you checkout.
You’ll be informed about a four-hour delivery window on the day of your package delivery. During that time, your vehicle must be located in a publically accessible area. You’ll receive a notification when the delivery person is heading to your vehicle and can keep track of the delivery stops on the Key by Amazon app. After scanning your package, a delivery driver will place it in your vehicle’s trunk. You’ll get another notification as soon as the delivery is made.
Peace of mind
Key by Amazon In-Car Delivery works to deliver your packages securely. Only the delivery driver can access your vehicle with a digital token key that’s for your FordPass™ app account specifically. The token key even expires after a certain amount of time if it’s not used. Plus, delivery drivers must double-check that your door handle is locked after they place the packages inside your trunk.
