A Very Special Story

November is a time for giving thanks and counting blessings, and this month, we are doing just that by telling the story of our employee, Bill Brugman, who overcame hardship with the combination of strength, encouragement—and one Canon camera.

Bill Brugman, a longtime member of the Two Rivers Ford family, has had Ford is his blood since before he ever knew it. Originally from Detroit, Bill’s grandfather Otto Fantoe was a blacksmith for Henry Ford’s Greenfield village. So as a young boy, Bill moved south to Nashville, became a Ford transmission specialist in 1989, and later joined the Two Rivers Ford team.

Bill was married to his high school sweetheart in 1995, and after a 2016, Bill hit was he called his lowest point. He struggled with anxiety and depression, and after receiving support from his Two Rivers Ford family, began to find peace again in nature.

He began photographing the beauty that he saw in nature on his long walks and hikes, and pretty soon, he realized that he had a real knack and passion for outdoor photography.

Seeing the joy that photography brought to Bill’s life, John Barker, owner of Two Rivers Ford, purchased Bill a professional camera, to help with his new hobby!

Fast forward to today, you’ll find Bill in the service bays at Two Rivers Ford, smiling, sharing his story, and feeling very, very grateful. Outside of work, Bill spends his time soaking up the beauty of nature and winning a first-place blue ribbon or two in local photography contests.

We don’t share that story with you to pat Two Rivers Ford on the back, but rather, as a reminder during this Thanksgiving season, that there is so much and so many people in all of our lives that are worth celebrating and supporting. You never know what someone is going through on the inside, and kind words of love and support can do wonders.

Bill is a shining example of what a strong community can do for an individual, and we’re so thrilled to be a part of Bill’s life and amazingly beautiful hobby.

Here are some of Bill’s wonderful photos, we hope you enjoy!
