Signs You Need To Replace Your Tires
Signs You Need To Replace Your Tires
Tires go through a lot each time you go on a drive, so naturally, they take on gradual wear and tear. To drive safely on the road, it’s imperative that your tires are in good condition. As such, look out for these signs that it’s time to purchase new tires.
Worn tread
If the tread on your vehicle’s tires is too worn down, you won’t have the best traction on the road. You can check the tread depth by placing a penny upside down in the tread. If the top of Lincoln’s head is visible, there isn’t enough tread, and it’s time for new tires.
Uneven tread
Improper inflation or bad alignment can lead to uneven wear. If you notice your tires have uneven wear and tear, you should replace the tires at the dealership’s service department and consider getting regular tire rotations.
Sidewall cracks
If the tires on your vehicle have visible cuts or cracks in the sidewall, it’s time to get a new set. A crack in the sidewall can be an indication that there’s a leak developing, so have a service technician inspect the tires.
Blisters on the surface
You should avoid driving on a tire that has blisters or bulges on the surface since these weak areas could potentially lead to a blowout. To help prevent a blowout, have the tire replaced as soon as possible.
Extra vibration
If your vehicle has been shaking or vibrating as you increase in speed, it could be a sign that the tires are unbalanced or misaligned. It might also point to an issue with the shock absorbers. No matter the source of the issue, consider bringing it into the service department for an inspection and potentially a replacement.
We at Two Rivers Ford encourage you to stop by our service department if your vehicle is in need of an inspection, tire rotation or other maintenance.
