No Need to Open Doors Anymore

On December 3, 2021, Ford Motor Company filed a patent for powered doors with an ID system that may be used in future Ford vehicles. Recently, Ford has filed patents for tons of potential new door designs, including ones that automatically open for drivers and passengers, power side doors, and doors that open and close on command.

The difference in this new patent though is big time.

These doors would be able to open and close based on a user location and/or their identification. That way, when you walk up to your Ford with your mobile device in hand, once you get a certain distance from the vehicle, the doors will automatically open for you.

The system could also use facial recognition software to spot you and pop the doors for you!
