Merry Christmas to All!

From Two Rivers Ford’s Vice President, Matthew Barker:

2023 has been a wonderful and exciting year here at Two Rivers Ford. We’ve gotten to commemorate a lot of milestones. We celebrated our 40th year in business. We completed an expansion of both our Commercial Vehicle Department and our Service Departments. We’ve become one of the top-ranking Ford dealers in the United States, and best of all my wife Hannah and I are expecting our first child. We are beyond blessed.

I want to personally thank each and every one of you for being a part of our year, our success, and our Two Rivers Ford family. There’s a reason you always see the staff at Two Rivers Ford smiling—and that reason is you.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours, and thank you for being part of our lives and our dealership.

Happy Trails, Chief!

Over the weekend, Mount Juliet said goodbye to Chief James Hambrick for the last time, as he rode off for the final time in his beautiful red Mustang, courtesy of Two Rivers Ford.

Chief Hambrick proudly served the Mount Juliet Police Department and the people of Mount Juliet for over 28 years, the last 11 of which, as the Chief of Police.

His legacy in Mount Juliet will live on, even as he is no longer serving. The men and women of Two Rivers Ford want to thank Chief Hambrick, his wife Denise, and the whole Hambrick family for so many incredible years of leadership and service.

Enjoy retirement, Chief!

We want to give a special shoutout and send our love to the people in Middle TN who were affected by last weekend’s storms and tornadoes. We love our community and everyone in it, and seeing so many individuals, families, and businesses hurt is simply devastating.

If you’d like to reach out and help a neighbor in need this Christmas season, READ THIS ARTICLE by Channel 2. It gives a great list of all the ways that you can help those that suffered over the weekend.

Preds are Rolling!

After a pretty brutal start to the 2023-24 season, the Predators have finally found some juice, winning 8 of their last 10 games, including a 4-3 shootout win on Tuesday night, in Chicago.

Back around Thanksgiving, Nashville won 6 games in a row, including an 8-3 rout of the St. Louis Blues on 11/24. After dropping their last two, they’re back on a good streak, beating Buffalo and Chicago on the road.

Currently, fan favorite Filip Forsberg leads the team in both goals and assists with 13 and 16, in 25 games. Forsberg and Ryan O’Reilly both have tallied 10+ goals so far, but 17 other Predators have scored so far in this young season, speaking to the depth that this new look Preds team is building and developing.

Next up, they face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night, back at home at Bridgestone Arena, at 7pm! Go Preds!

A Very Special Story

November is a time for giving thanks and counting blessings, and this month, we are doing just that by telling the story of our employee, Bill Brugman, who overcame hardship with the combination of strength, encouragement—and one Canon camera.

Bill Brugman, a longtime member of the Two Rivers Ford family, has had Ford is his blood since before he ever knew it. Originally from Detroit, Bill’s grandfather Otto Fantoe was a blacksmith for Henry Ford’s Greenfield village. So as a young boy, Bill moved south to Nashville, became a Ford transmission specialist in 1989, and later joined the Two Rivers Ford team.

Bill was married to his high school sweetheart in 1995, and after a 2016, Bill hit was he called his lowest point. He struggled with anxiety and depression, and after receiving support from his Two Rivers Ford family, began to find peace again in nature.

He began photographing the beauty that he saw in nature on his long walks and hikes, and pretty soon, he realized that he had a real knack and passion for outdoor photography.

Seeing the joy that photography brought to Bill’s life, John Barker, owner of Two Rivers Ford, purchased Bill a professional camera, to help with his new hobby!

Fast forward to today, you’ll find Bill in the service bays at Two Rivers Ford, smiling, sharing his story, and feeling very, very grateful. Outside of work, Bill spends his time soaking up the beauty of nature and winning a first-place blue ribbon or two in local photography contests.

We don’t share that story with you to pat Two Rivers Ford on the back, but rather, as a reminder during this Thanksgiving season, that there is so much and so many people in all of our lives that are worth celebrating and supporting. You never know what someone is going through on the inside, and kind words of love and support can do wonders.

Bill is a shining example of what a strong community can do for an individual, and we’re so thrilled to be a part of Bill’s life and amazingly beautiful hobby.

Here are some of Bill’s wonderful photos, we hope you enjoy!

The Rescue Run is more than just a race. It is an opportunity to get off the couch and get active with the family while celebrating the start of the season of giving. It’s also a great way for the Two Rivers Ford family to recognize the late Tommy Crockett, who was our general manager for the majority of Two Rivers Ford’s history.

He was a huge part of the Two Rivers family for many years, and a huge part of our success. Tommy gave 100% to everything he did; work, family, and community. He was simply one of a kind.

KACHOW!

This year, we’re dressed up as Lightning McQueen, because duh. Do we even have to explain?

From 2005-2017, McQueen won 7 Piston Cups with Team Rust-Eze, before he starred in a couple of pretty well known movies, and eventually became crew chief and mentor of Cruz Ramirez.

McQueen and Ford have one major thing in common, and that is SPEED. The 2024 Ford Mustang is all about speed, so it only seemed right for us to dress up as him this year.

If you have a need for speed, stop by Two Rivers Ford and test drive one of our 2024 Ford Mustangs today!

Halloween Safety Tips

Halloween is always such a fun day and night, regardless of age. It’s candy, costumes, and good fun for all, for one night a year. But with that fun comes a need for safety! Thankfully, Mt. Juliet Police is on top of that this year, and they’ve made a list of safety tips, to make sure you and all your neighbors have a great night!

  1. Always accompany young children when trick-or-treating
  2. Stick to well-lit houses and always use sidewalks
  3. Inspect all treats before consuming them
  4. Carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing to be easily seen
  5. Don’t wear masks that can obstruct vision; use face paint instead
  6. Practice road safety – look both ways before crossing the street
  7. Stay in familiar neighborhoods and follow a planned route
  8. Keep a safe distance from lit candles and luminaries
  9. If you see something suspicious, report it immediately to us

Now look, we know that sometimes on Halloween, it’s easy to get carried away and go running from house to house. And sure, reflective clothing might clash with your costumes…

But getting to that next candy hub safely is more important than how fast you get there! And if you’re afraid the next house is going to run out of candy, I promise you, they ALWAYS have more!

Everyone have a great Halloween night, and feel free to tweet your fun costume pics at us!

We Appreciate You, Myron!

Way to Go, Bill!

Everybody meet our Specialist Technician, Bill Brugman. Recently, Bill won a 1st place prize, for this beautiful picture!

But this is so much more than a photo, which is why it’s so special.

Bill turned to photography when he hit a low point in his life years ago, and with the help and encouragement of his Two Rivers Ford family, and a camera given to him by our owner, John Barker, he came through the most difficult time in his life, stronger than ever!

“This hobby has helped me, not only look through a new lense for my photography work, but life itself”

– Bill Brugman

At Two Rivers Ford, we love and care deeply for every member of our team, and we are so proud of Bill and his talents. Stay tuned for Bill’s story in the November issue of our Two Rivers Ford newsletter, and for more of his photography!
