Remembrance and Thanks

Due to the horrible events that took place yesterday in Green Hills at the Covenant School, I felt it was best to wait a day to bring you this week’s blog.

Normally, I come in here with some jokes, a few quips and headlines about the community, and maybe a sales pitch or two.

None of that this week.

This week, our whole hearts and minds are with the Covenant School community, and those that lost loved ones to senseless violence against innocent people.

Today, I want to use this blog to honor and remember the 3 children and 3 adults that lost their lives yesterday.

I also want to take the time to recognize the unwavering bravery of the Metro Nashville Police Department, and a few officers in particular, who did not hesitate when they were called upon.

These are MNPD Officers Rex Engelbert, a 4-year veteran, and Michael Collazo, a 9-year veteran. They were part of a team of first responders to the Covenant campus Monday morning, who quickly took the shooter down and prevented further bloodshed.

Without the bravery of these men, and the others that ran towards the danger, who knows how many more innocent people would’ve died.

To these men, we give you the ultimate thanks.

From MNPD Chief of Police John Drake, all the way down, we commend you for your excellent work yesterday, and for giving the Nashville community a sense of peace, among such unexpected chaos.

Despite being physically located in Mount Juliet, so much of Two Rivers Ford is in Nashville. Many of our employees and their families reside in and around the Green Hills area, as do many of our wonderful customers. To all those that that will be forever affected by Monday’s tragic events, we want you to know that we are with you and that we love you.

To the victims and their families, we send our deepest condolences, and wish you peace, as you navigate this time of unbearable tragedy.

And to the first responders who keep the Nashville and Middle Tennessee community safe, we send our thanks and appreciation, today and every day.

God bless the Covenant School, God bless the victims, and God bless the Nashville community.
