Vols Cruise to Orange Bowl Win

Friday night, the Vols took center stage in Miami, facing off with #7 Clemson in the Orange Bowl. QB Joe Milton and the Vols looked outstanding, never trailing in the game. Clemson outgained Tennessee on offense, but it didn’t matter, as the Vols took care of the football all game and made the most of their opportunities.

Milton threw for 251 yards and 3 TDs, and freshman WR Squirrel White led the team with 9 catches for 108 yards and 1 TD.

Tennessee head football coach Josh Heupel and Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III (7) celebrate after winning the Orange Bowl game between the Tennessee Vols and Clemson Tigers at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022. Orangebowl1230 3015

The game also served as a great preview of what is to come for the Vols, as many young Vols stepped up in the absence of upperclassmen, either due to injury or opt-outs.

Joe Milton looks like an early Heisman candidate for 2023, possessing off-the-charts arm strength and athletic ability. If Josh Heupel can mold Milton like he did Hendon Hooker, the sky is the limit for the Vols in 2023.

Go Big Orange!

Titans Flexed to Saturday Night in Jacksonville

Late Sunday night, the NFL made the move to flex the do-or-die Titans/Jaguars game to Saturday night at 7:15pm ET. This game will decide the fate of both teams this season, as the winner will clinch the AFC South, and the loser will get sent home with nothing.

After winning at Lambeau Field on November 17th, the Titans have completely fallen apart, riddled with injuries and poor play, resulting in a 6-game losing streak, their longest since 2015.

Ryan Tannehill is done for the year with an ankle injury, most of the offensive line is on IR, and the overall talent gap between the Titans and its last 6 opponents has been staggering. The Jaguars are playing great football at the right time, and the Titans couldn’t be further from that.

So all eyes will be on TIAA Bank Field Saturday night, as the AFC South will kick off Week 18 and all the playoff drama.
