Vols Get Run out of Athens by Bulldogs

Saturday afternoon, all eyes were on Athens, GA, as the #1 Vols took on the #3 Georgia Bulldogs in what was essentially a winner take all game for the SEC East. Georgia got off to a hot start, and never looked back, dominating the Vols 27-13, in a game that was much more one-sided than the score might indicate.

Heisman hopeful Hendon Hooker never was able to settle in, as he was constantly under pressure from an incredible Georgia defensive line. The Dawgs had their way with the Vols on offense too for much of the day, milking a big lead for most of the afternoon.

The loss was a huge shot to the Vols’ college football playoff chances, especially after #6 Alabama fell in Baton Rouge to #10 LSU. However, all hope is not lost, as #4 Clemson also lost, creating a major shakeup in the CFB top-10.

Vols fans will have to wait this week to see how the playoff committee views their rough loss to the soon-to-be #1 Georgia Bulldogs.

All hope is not lost though, Vols fans. Keep your heads up, and Go Big Orange!

Titans Lose Heartbreaker in Kansas City

Last night, as I’m sure many of you saw, the Titans collapsed in the 2nd half, in primetime, vs the Kansas City Chiefs. The Titans carried a 14-9 lead into the half, and went up 17-9 in the 3rd quarter. They held that lead until about 3 minutes left, when Patrick Mahomes drove the Chiefs down the field, and tied the game on their 3rd attempt at a 2-point conversion. In overtime, the Chiefs got a field goal, after converting crazy play after crazy play.

Then the Titans got the ball, put together 4 horrific plays in a row, and it was over. Just like that.

The Titans defense played over 40 minutes of the game, and put together one of the best performances you’ll see from an NFL defense. But in the end, the Titans play calling held them back, and couldn’t get it done when it mattered most.

Gut-wrenching loss.

Nothing else to say…
