Titans Make Big Money Move with DT Jeffery Simmons
On Friday, the Titans finally put pen to paper on a big time move for the future, signing superstar DT Jeffery Simmons to a 4-year, $94 million contract extension, with $66 million in guaranteed money!
The announcement was anticipated for quite a while, as Simmons has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the NFL, racking up 21 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, and 189 tackles in 56 career games. Simmons has also earned Pro Bowl and 2nd team All-Pro honors the last 2 seasons, making it all the more obvious that the Titans needed to lock him up on a long-term deal, before he headed to free agency after the 2023 season.
The move is the first big one for new General Manager Ran Carthon, and it’s safe to say it’s a popular move, as Simmons has become a fan favorite in just 4 short years in Nashville!
