He’s a Car Lover at Heart, Like You!

In a world of corporations and big businesses, people and customers often find that the CEO of their favorite company doesn’t genuinely love the product or service like you. They just run the business.

For Ford Motor CEO Jim Farley, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

On Saturday, Farley made his professional racing debut with a 12th-place finish in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Daytona. He drove a Multimatic Motorsports-run Ford Mustang GT4 in the GSX class of the support race during the Roar Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona test session.

Roger Penske, owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Penske Corporation, said that “It’s so good that he’s interested”, talking about motorsports, adding that “It’s good for Ford because he understands what motorsports means to the company.”

Farley is certainly no stranger to motorsports, and the history that it shares with the development of the automotive industry.

Congrats on the successful debut, Jim! Maybe we can get John Barker in that race someday…
